Michael Dening has over 35 years of experience in commercial real estate construction and management.
Michael began his construction career in 1965 working with commercial contractors, including Turner Construction, as a construction engineer on projects in the United States, the United Kingdom and Spain. From 1972 to 1979, he worked with two real estate development companies, one in the United Kingdom and the other in the United States, both involved primarily in the development of warehouse and distribution facilities.
In 1979, Michael formed Devon for acquisition, development, and renovation of commercial office buildings, warehouses, and retail centers.
Michael received a degree in Civil Engineering from Bristol University (UK) in 1965, and a Masters in Financial Management from the London School of Economics in 1972.
He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Pennsylvania.
Philip A. Ucci has been involved in engineering, construction, and real estate development since 1976. Prior to joining Devon, he worked as project manager for Omni construction in Washington D.C. Philip brings substantial project management capabilities to the Devon organization, having worked with the renovation and construction of a diverse array of real estate projects, including office buildings, multi-family complexes, hotels, and warehouse/distribution facilities.
Philip received a Bachelor's Degree in Architectural Engineering from Pratt Institute in 1976; a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering from Polytechnic Institute of New York in 1980; and a Masters of Business Administration from Pace University in 1983.
He is a Registered Architect; a Licensed Professional Engineer in Virginia and New York; and is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the American Society of Civil Engineers.
Edward D. Mitchell started his career in the real estate and finance industries in 1985. Over the course of his career, Ed has been involved in virtually all aspects of the real estate development and investment process, including financing, equity placement, syndication, acquisition, management, and sale of commercial properties. Prior to joining Devon, Ed was a Senior Vice President with Bank of America's Commercial Real Estate Division where he provided financial solutions for a diverse client base that included local and national real estate companies, REITs, and opportunity funds. In addition to traditional real estate banking and investment banking services, Ed spent two and a half years with AMRESCO Institutional, Inc. (a Bank of America subsidiary) where he was involved in the resolution of distressed loans and foreclosed properties. During that time period, his responsibilities included management, completion of construction, and disposition of various foreclosed properties.
Ed received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Duke University in 1985, with a double-major in Mechanical Engineering and Economics.
Michael J. Dzielak specializes in the construction of tenant improvements in Devon's portfolio properties. Mike has worked exclusively in the construction and property management fields since 1969. Construction experience includes a diverse array of project types and includes site development, interstate highway construction, and owner representation in the construction of branch bank facilities and multi-million dollar schools. Property management background includes leasing and maintenance of multi-story buildings as Maintenance Controller for Henrico County Schools.
